How do we rightly divide (discern) Biblical statements that tell us that mankind was given dominion over this planet and that we are not only sons of God but Kings and priests as well?

Revelation 1:6 says:
“And has made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever.”

John is speaking to the church here (Revelation 1:6) and makes a statement that we have been made kings...

What does a king do? A king rules. Since that is the case, when were we made kings, and how are we supposed to be ruling? In order to rightly divide this verse, we need to look at a few more scriptures.

Romans 5:17 says that we will reign in “life” by Christ Jesus. Was the apostle referring to believers reigning in this life?

Mark chapter nine answers that question. In this chapter, Jesus makes references to “life” that are related to Romans 5:17. In Mark 9:43, Jesus said it is better to enter into “life” maimed... Was Jesus referring to Heaven? No one will enter into Heaven maimed. There is no sin, sickness, injury or defect there.

In Mark 9:45, Jesus said it would be better to enter in “life” crippled... If Jesus was not referring to Heaven, what then was he referring to? Verse 47 answers that question for us.

In Mark 9:47 Jesus said that it would be better to enter into the “Kingdom of God” blind... In this passage (and also in Romans 5:17), it is Christ’s earthly kingdom that is being referenced.

When Jesus came the first time, although he was the King, he did not reign as king. So it is with us. Although we are “made” kings...

We are not yet reigning.

2 Timothy 2:12 makes this very clear: If we suffer [with him], we shall also reign with [him]: The key word here is “shall.”

There is no doubt whatsoever that this verse is referring to the time when Christ shall return to earth to establish his earthly kingdom. When that happens, we will return “with” him and will be reigning “with” him (i.e., helping administrate His government).

1 Thessalonians specifically says “...at the coming of the Lord Jesus with all his saints.”

There are other verses which very clearly spell out the fact that it is not this world, or this age, in which mankind can expect to ruling or have dominion, it is in the world to come that we can expect these things to manifest (Hebrews 2:5).

Right now, at this present time, we are in the world as our Lord was when he came the 1st time. He did not come the first time to rule, and neither are we ruling now.

So let that mind be in us that was in Christ Jesus, who although he was almighty God, Lord and King of all, and knew that he would not be considered a thief or usurper to claim equality with God (because he was God), never-the-less, emptied himself of his glory and became one of us--not only did he become one of us, but he became the lowest of us--the servant.

And what did Jesus told us about that? He said, "The servant is not above his lord. It is enough for the servant to be "as" his lord."

As the scripture say, “Now are we the sons of God, it does not yet appear what we shall be.”

Revelation 13:3 - When, in the Timeline, Does the Antichrist Experience the Deadly Wound?

"When, in the timeline does the antichrist experience the deadly wound?"

*Revelation 13:3-5 tells us The Man of Sin receives his power after his deadly wound is healed.

*Revelation 19:11-20 tells us that The Man of Sin loses his power when Jesus comes out of Heaven with his armies and defeats him at the battle of Armageddon.

*Revelation 13:5 tells us that the time of his world dictator ship will last a total of 42 months (3 1/2 years).

My conclusion is based on the following five points, the first
four of which must occur in very quick succession.

1.) The deadly wound (imitating Christ's death?)
2.) The subsequent resurrection (after 3 days?)
3.) The indwelling of Satan (simultaneous with ressurection?)
4.) Immediate Bestowal of a world dictatorship (Satan aint gonna wait!)
which will last only 3 1/2 years--42 months
5.) The antichrist is deposed when Christ leaves Heaven with armies
and defeats him at the end of his allotted 42 months

Conclusion: The Man of Sin must receive the deadly wound at the
beginning of the 42 month period immediately prior to Christ leaving
heaven with his armies to defeat the antichrist at Armageddon.

Revelation 7:8 The Tribe of Joseph

Taking Revelation 7:8 literally presents serious problems for many students of Bible prophecy due to its reference to a "Tribe of Joseph."

There are those who insist that the physical nation of Israel is not ever referred to in The Revelation (that all references to Israel actually mean "The Church"), and that indeed the physical descendants of Jacob play no part at all, biblically speaking, in end-time events.

And Revelation 7:8 is one of the reasons for coming to such conclusions.

There is more than one aspect of this verse that should be looked at in any truly in-depth study of The Revelation, but the question, purely and simply, needs to be addressed: Is there such a thing as a "Tribe of Joseph?"

The biblical evidence suggests there is. And the place to begin in looking at the evidence is at the beginning--in the Book of Genesis.

In Genesis 48:5-6, 16, we witness Jacob adopting Joseph's two son's Ephraim and Manasseh. Jacob plainly tells Joseph that they would be his just like Reuben and Simeon were his (that is, they would be called sons of Jacob). And we see through-out scripture, that this adoption was, is and will always be acknowledged.

However, Jacob did plainly say that Joseph would beget other children, and that they would be called after Joseph's name--not Jacob's. But that, in the totality of things, all of Joseph's children and descendants would also be called after the name of their brethren--Ephraim and Manasseh.

We acknowledge that this has been a very simplistic treatment of Revelation 7:8, intended only to look at one question, "Is there a Tribe of Joseph?" The evidence points to the fact that there is:

The Tribe of Joseph is plainly mentioned in Revelation 7:8 and called the "Tribe" of Joseph.
Jacob said there would be other descendants of Joseph besides Ephraim and Manasseh, and that they would be called by his (Joseph's) name (Genesis 48:6).
In the very first listing of the tribes of Israel, "Joseph" is named as a tribe of Israel (Genesis 49:22,28)
The tribe of Joseph is mentioned many times through-out the Old Testament and once in the New Testament.

The Seven Churches (Revelation Chapters 2 & 3)

Over the years there have been various interpretations of which part of the church, or which time period, the churches in The Revelation represent.

It is an indisputable fact that The Revelation was written down and sent to 7 literal churches. There is also little arguement that the message in the letters to the churches transcends the time period they were written in.

One predominant theory is the churches mentioned in The Revelation correspond to the church in general during varying periods of history.

It is true that the messages to churches listed in The Revelation are certainly relevant for The Body of Christ at any given point in history, but as The Revelation deals specifically with the 70th week of Daniel (The Time of Jacob’s Trouble/The Great Tribulation, i.e.), which takes place during the last seven years of history before Christ physically returns to this earth, Daniel 9:27, Revelation 13:5), that means the messages to all seven churches are especially relevant to the end time church—i.e., the one that finds itself in Heaven beginning in the 4th chapter of The Revelation—not just to the Laodicean Church which is the one typically singled out to be the Church of today.
